The Flora and Fauna

Sikkim is a state in northeast India, bordered by Bhutan, Tibet and Nepal. Part of the Himalayas, the area has a dramatic landscape that includes India’s highest mountain, 8,586m Kangchenjunga. Sikkim is also home to glaciers, alpine meadows and thousands of varieties of wildflowers. Steep paths lead to hilltop Buddhist monasteries such as Pemayangtse, which dates to the early 1700s.

It is also very popular beacuse of its flora and fauna. Sikkim is home to around 5,000 species of flowering plants, 515 rare orchids, 60 primula species, 36 rhododendron species, 11 oak varieties, 23 bamboo varieties, 16 conifer species, 362 types of ferns and ferns allies, 8 tree ferns, and over 900 medicinal plants.

Flora

Sikkim is famous for its abundant species of flowers. there is a santuary which is a must visit.Varsey Rhododendron Sanctuary or Barsey Rhododendron Sanctuary is sprawls over 104 square kilometers situated in the Singalila Range in the Southwest corner of Western Sikkim. It is a must-visit place during late spring. The Rhododendron – the national flower of Nepal as well as the state flower of West Virginia and Washington bloom during March and April. This beautiful flower sanctuary can be reached from three points – Hilley, Dentam and Soreng. But the most popular entry point is Hilley as it is approachable by road and Varsey is only four kilometer trek from this point.

Fauna

The diversity in the plant world is complemented by a similar variety in the animal kingdom. Amongst the mammals of Sikkim are the rare Snow Leopard, Himalayan Black Bear, Red panda, Musk Deer, Blue Sheep, Shapi, Common Langur, Leopard Cat, and the Flying Squirrel.

Sikkim also has a rich diversity of arthropods, many of which remain unstudied. Some of the most understudied species are Sikkimese arthropods, specifically butterflies. Of the approximately 1,438 butterfly species found in the Indian subcontinent, 695 have been recorded in Sikkim. These include the endangered Kaiser-i-hind, the Yellow Gorgon and the Bhutan Glory

we all are stuck in our houses, doing nothing . with parks and gym closed, we are not exposed to any physical activity lately. we all have become a couch potato. just eating, watiching tv, lying on sofas and sleeping. this lockdown has completely ruined our physique.

“Yoga”

Yoga is an ancient form of exercise which evolved thousands of years back in the Indian society and is being practiced continuously since then. It includes various forms of exercises to keep a person in good shape and to get rid of various forms of diseases and inabilities. It is also considered as a strong method for meditation which helps in relaxation of mind and body.Yoga is being practiced worldwide today. Approximately 2 billion people around the world practice Yoga. Yoga can heplp you in your social,physical and mentalwell being.

meditation revives your chakras and makes you more positive day by day!

“Walk”

Morning walk is a very good exercise. we can feel the freshness in the morning, the cool wind breeze, birds chirping and more. Walking morning will controles our blood pressure, lessens stress, and strainto work. Brisk walk is also good for our health. Morning walk makes us and our mind peaceful so we can do our work with full enthusiasm and self – confidence. Everyday walking will loose our weight and remain fit. By this walk if we do regularly we will not get any diseases and can be healthy for longer days. It gives a boost self control and upbeat mood. Besides making u cheerful. Science is also proving that morning walk is very good for our health and our body will be fresh and becoming healthy day by day. So there are many more reasons that morning walk is a very good exercise and to be fit.

“Dance”

There are many forms of dance, from ballroom to barn dancing and disco to Morris dancing. Dance has always been a part of human culture, rituals and celebrations. Today, most dancing is about recreation and self-expression, although it can also be done as a competitive activity. Dancing is an enjoyable way to be more physically active and stay fit.You can dance in a group, with a partner, or on your own. There are lots of different places where you can enjoy dancing, for example, at dance schools, social venues, community halls and in your own home. Dancing has become such a popular way to be active and keep fit, that most fitness clubs now offer dance classes in their group exercise programs.

Stay fit stay healthy

As you all know heath is an important factor of life. thus we should maintain this health. Some people eats junk foods all the time not caring what harm that food is causing to their body. Healthy eating not only boosts our health, it also helps us to be in our best mood.

Due to lockdowns all over the world, people are not able to move out of their house they are not able to go to gyms and parks for their daily exercises. But we can always exercise at home you just need a little space and you are done. You can do some squats and crunches at home only. This will help you to stay fit in this time of pandemic
